A Relational, Supportive Space to Strengthen Your Clinical Work

Feeling drained or unsure after a tough session? Wondering how to hold space for families without burning out? Clinical supervision should be more than checking boxes. My approach to supervision offers a collaborative, supportive space where you can pause, breathe, and reflect on your work. Through reflective practice, you have room to explore your feelings, your responses, and your growth as a clinician, not just your interventions. As a Latina psychologist and supervisor in New York City, I provide clinical supervision that is relational, warm, and culturally responsive. Reflective supervision helps you develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your skills with families, and reduce the risk of burnout so you can stay grounded and confident in your work. If you’re ready for supervision that values you as much as your work, I invite you to connect with me. Together we can build a space that supports your growth, your confidence, and your long-term effectiveness as a clinician.

Why Reflective Supervision Matters

In my career, I have experienced both traditional administrative supervision and reflective supervision. Administrative supervision helped me meet requirements and manage tasks, but reflective supervision transformed the way I practice. It taught me to slow down, notice my reactions, and stay curious about what was happening in the room. Reflective supervision not only reshaped my approach as a clinician but also influenced how I supervise others.

Mental health professionals often hold the weight of trauma, systemic inequities, and the complex emotions of clients. Without space to reflect, it is easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Reflective supervision offers:

  • A safe space to process your feelings and responses to client work

  • Guidance to navigate countertransference and burnout

  • Opportunities to strengthen cultural humility and professional identity

Areas of Focus

Latinx Mental Health

I provide reflective supervision for clinicians working with Latinx families, offering a supportive space to reflect on cultural context, systemic inequities, and the dynamics that shape therapeutic work. Together we explore transference and countertransference, as well as how cultural values and lived experiences impact both the clinician and the client.

I also support Latinx providers who face the unique challenges of navigating bicultural identities. As a Latina supervising psychologist, I understand firsthand how our own identities and the ways we are perceived by clients can shape the clinical relationship. Reflective supervision can help providers balance personal and professional expectations while addressing the pressures that come with being both a clinician and a member of the community they serve.

In addition, I offer reflective supervision for clinicians from different backgrounds who want to strengthen their cultural humility when working with Latinx clients and families. Together, we build greater awareness, deepen reflective practice, and increase confidence in providing culturally responsive care.

Perinatal Mental Health

I offer perinatal mental health supervision for clinicians working with pregnant and postpartum clients. Reflective supervision creates space to process the complex experiences of new parenthood, including shifts in identity, attachment, and relationships. Together, we reflect on how to support parents in building confidence, trusting their instincts, and feeling seen in their roles.

Parenting is deeply personal, and many parents fear being judged by professionals. Reflective supervision provides an opportunity for clinicians to explore their own reactions, including transference and countertransference, so they can remain compassionate, curious, and supportive in the therapeutic relationship.

My approach emphasizes warmth, reflection, and cultural responsiveness, helping clinicians strengthen their capacity to hold space for parents as they navigate the joys and challenges of early parenthood.

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH)

I provide infant and early childhood mental health supervision in New York City with a focus on supporting the parent–child relationship, fostering healthy attachment, and intervening early to create lasting change. Reflective supervision offers a space for clinicians to consider how early relational experiences shape both children and families, and how their own responses as providers influence the work.

I also offer reflective supervision for clinicians working in systems such as pediatrics, child welfare, or community-based programs. Having practiced in these environments myself, I understand the challenges of navigating institutional demands while holding space for families. Supervision helps providers stay grounded, reflective, and intentional even in high-pressure or system-driven settings.

My approach emphasizes relational support, cultural humility, and reflective practice, helping clinicians feel equipped to nurture secure attachment and resilience in the families they serve.

My experience as a supervisor

Choosing a supervisor is about more than fulfilling a requirement. It is about finding someone who can truly support your growth. I have supervised doctoral externs, interns, and early career clinicians in a variety of settings, including child welfare agencies, pediatric primary care, and community mental health. Over the years, I have built strong, trusting relationships with my supervisees, and they have consistently shared that they felt supported, seen, and encouraged in their growth. You are not alone in this work. Reflective supervision can provide the guidance and support you need to sustain your practice with confidence and care.

My supervision style is:

  • Relational: Centering trust, respect, and mutual learning

  • Warm and Supportive: Creating a safe space to share challenges without judgment

  • Culturally Responsive: Integrating Latinx psychology, cultural humility, and liberation psychology

  • Reflective: Encouraging curiosity and self-awareness to strengthen professional identity
